Drama Courses.
At ArtsPlay. our Drama Courses are educational, comprehensive, fulfilling and fun. For the most part, they are run by Chris, Sebastian de Souza and Tristan de Souza (Click for Biographies), with a lot of help from their friends.
Each of the two four-day courses culminate in a performance, put together by the course members, that incorporates all the different skills learnt and is an opportunity for the children to give a display of the various texts, dances and pieces that they have worked on and devised.
We always remind parents and course members that there is no need of any previous experience or training; we do not expect children to have been to our, or any other similar, courses before. If they DO happen to have a keen interest in music, dance, drama, writing, costume, lighting etc., then that’s fantastic and we encourage all those who come on our courses to bring with them anything - such as an instrument, a script idea, a favourite book, play, painting or prop - that inspires them, or that they’d like to share. An ArtsPlay. course is very much a group effort. As soon as we begin a course, we are a company that is endeavouring, over a short period of time to create something new, exciting, theatrical and insightful, at the same time as learning all about the process of theatre-making.
Our courses are for children between the ages of 9-14 years.
